4 Weeks and a New Living Room

First let me say that it has been 4 weeks since my last blog post! I am so thankful for those that are still following along. I never knew three years ago when I started this blog that I would be pushing 100 followers today! When I blog on a regular basis, I feel like I'm capturing and preserving our life and memories. When I wait four weeks in between posts, I feel like I'm slacking.

Here's what's going on with us:

I redecorated our living room. When we first moved into our new house, our living room was so blah and plain. We were living with a smaller tv because a certain 2 year old cracked our brand new 44 inch flat screen. We didn't have much to fill our bigger space and I had big plans for our new living room.

Here's a before picture:

Sad and boring :(

Here's how our living room looks now:

We bought a new area rug and two new potted indoor palm trees. I really love having plants inside. I feel like they help us breathe a little better and they brighten up our living room. They're pretty low maintenance too. Once a week, I my husband sticks them outside for half a day and adds water.

Notice the huge treadmill? That's my present to myself. We got a really good deal on it and it's usually in our storage closet in the laundry room. I use it all of the time now because I can watch the Real Housewives while I run. Win win!

We bought a bigger tv and entertainment center. My hubby took the tv off of its base and mounted it in the center of the console. He also installed a lighting kit. I added a dark brown wicker basket for Jackson's downstairs toys.

Here's a closeup of the top of the console. I got everything from Hobby Lobby or Pier 1 Imports. There are seashells in the glass container.

We had a perfect Valentine's day! My hubby and I were both off so we did a little shopping around town and grabbed some takeout for dinner. After Jackson went to bed, we ate our dinner, drank some wine and watched the new episode of Cougar Town. True love, ha!

I also made some Valentine goodies for Jackson's little friends at his sitter's. I bought a box of Goldfish snacks in the individual bags, a box of Juicy Juice and a bag of heart shaped slinkies. I put them all together in a clear treat bag and tied the bag up with a bright red ribbon and a little gift tag. Easy and cute.

The finished product.

That's it folks. I hope you all have a perfect weekend! I'll be cuddling this little cutie:

I haven't been good about blogging lately either. Lots of things going on in our lives and stress. I'm hoping life will be changing soon and I have better motivation. Have fun cuddling:)
